rejectomorphThere were some lovely cirrus clouds this morning, but by noon they had thickened and turned into a general overcast. It's a bright overcast, but it still provides enough shade to keep the day much cooler than it was yesterday. By evening it's supposed to turn back into scattered clouds, so the sky won't hold the heat in overnight.
Tomorrow is supposed to be much the same, and there is now a possibility, though slight, of rain both today and tomorrow. I'm hoping for no rain, because rain here in June is invariably accompanied by lightning, and lightning here in June is invariably accompanied by little fires that can flare up into big fires. On the other had, we could get the lightning even without the rain, so if there is to be lightning I hope there is also at least a bit of rain with it. To have neither would still be best, of course, my thirsty landscape notwithstanding.
I'm going to try having dinner for a late lunch again today, and save lunch for a late dinner. This does seem to work out for the best when I'm short of sleep and prone to unintended late afternoon naps. I'm also getting the computer stuff over with early, just in case we do get a thunderstorm later this afternoon. I'd like to get everything shut down and my costly new router unplugged before any power surges come along.
And I want to go out and see if the butterflies who were hanging about earlier are still around. The back yard was visited by several butterflies and a couple of hummingbirds this morning. They must enjoy the cooler days as much as I do.
