Going to sleep at eight o'clock in the morning and waking up after three in the afternoon really throws everything out of whack. I didn't eat breakfast or lunch, and I still haven't had dinner, and I'm way behind on everything else intended to do today. At least I can't say I didn't get enough sleep. About seven hours is fine. But it means that I probably won't get sleepy again until about eight o'clock tomorrow morning. It's a routine, but not one I'd deliberately choose. Oh, and today was trash day and I forgot to put the wheelie bins out. Dumb.

The latest storm has turned out to be a complete bust. Not a drop of rain today, although the weather web site says "Expect occasional rain to end at 10:30pm." Yeah, right. The clouds are supposed to be gone by tomorrow, and it will be clear and warmer for several days, with clouds returning next Monday. I'll believe it when I see it. Spring and all.

The last time I was in the back yard, a few minutes ago, I heard a flock of geese flying north. This time I'm not expecting them to turn around and fly back. I'm sure it's time for them to go. Soon I should be hearing trumpeter swans, too. I like hearing the trumpeter swans. Their calls are somehow joyful and a bit melancholy at the same time. Trumpeter swans are the Louis Armstrongs of the avian world.

And now to fix something for dinner, I think.

Can you make something turducken-ish using swans and geese?
