There's still a chance of rain predicted for Friday and Saturday. That's about the best news we could get this time of year. Today got somewhat less hot than yesterday, and the evening is very pleasant. It smells of grass outside, and I can hear some crickets and even a couple of frogs. The moon is close to full, but as the trees have leafed out there is still plenty of darkness in my back yard.

It isn't as breezy as it was last night, and I miss that, but I'm glad that it's cooler. Tomorrow ought to be very nice as it's going to drop another ten degrees. I'm hoping my brain will get less fried. Tonight it doesn't feel like doing much. I'm going to turn it off and watch television. Maybe give it a bit more fresh air first.

What was on tv last night? I have no idea when anything airs now. Can't even crank it up to watch streaming video! Who is this person wearing my face? (Rhetorical question.)

Colbert comes on in Letterman's old spot, 11:35 on CBS. That's followed by Englishman James Cordon in that weird Scottish guy's old spot. After that I switch to cable if I haven't already fallen asleep.

I've never seen a whole episode of Stephen's new show, nor a moment of Corden's. He does that thing with karaoke in cars or something like that? Craig Ferguson's version of "Istanbul Not Constantinople" is a classic. ;)

Carpool karaoke, the conceit of which is that Corden talks singers into carpooling to work with him so he can use the carpool lane. They then spend the commute singing snatches of karaoke versions of the singer's hits interspersed with amusing patter. It's sometimes amusing, anyway, and Corden's voice and style are not half bad.

Corden's bandleader, Reggie Watts, on the other hand, is a first-rate singer who does some very entertaining improvisational lyrics. I'd rather see him do the carpool karaoke. In fact I'd say he's the best thing about the show, even though Corden does do some very funny comedy bits and decent interviews.
