So the phone call I expected to wake me up Tuesday never came, and I got to sleep until after one o'clock in the afternoon. Later, as I wondered what had happened, I futzed around with the phone and discovered that the callback to me had actually been made Monday. I didn't here the phone ring, and the information that I'd missed a call never appeared on the phone screen. It seems to me that it used to, but now apparently I have to go digging for that information, the screen space being taken up by spam of various sorts. But by the time I made the discovery, it was too late to call them back myself, so that will have to wait until today. My poor geek skilz lead to delay once again.

I still haven't arranged for groceries either. The new supermarket ads come out today, so I'll check them and see if any of the stores has stuff I need on sale, or anything I don't yet need but could stock up on. I'm seriously low on salty snacks, so I hope some of those are cheap this week.

The midday heat Monday was borderline unpleasant. Today is supposed to be a bit cooler, and Thursday will be a balmy 71 degrees, which I find quite pleasant if I stay mostly in the shade and don't have to exert myself. The next day that is forecast to be really hot is next Wednesday, which could get up to 85. May is too early for 85, and it's early May at that. I console myself with the thought that it could be good for the grapes.

The Internets have been turning up some interesting music lately. Since I no longer have either a radio or a television, this is the only place I made such discoveries. Monday I came across a piano player named peter Bence, who has apparently been around for quite some time, but I hadn't heard (or heard of) him. He works with a looper, the electronic gadget that allows musicians to digitally record parts and then repeat them as they add additional parts. The piece I found is a piano version of a song from 2020 by a quasi-hip-hop/R&B/pop singer called The Weeknd, who I had also never heard of (I checked out the original video and it's quite dark and the lyric borders on grim in places.) The song is called Blinding Lights, and I'm a bit surprised to find that I actually like it a lot. Here is Peter Bence's piano cover.
