Sluggo once again has Apple Quick Time. I hope he can deal with it. It took about 40 minutes to download and install on this slow dial up connection.

The pictures I took on the day of the eclipse came back yesterday. A couple of them aren't too bad. Shots of crescents of light cast through leaves. I'll try to get a couple of them posted soon.

The task of getting the pictures in my documents file all sorted into folders continues, slowly. Once that is done, I'll have a bit more time for writing again- I hope.

UH, let's see... kitty's foot is recovering... K-Mart never found the roll of film they lost, so they are sending me a new one and a coupon for free processing- (I'd rather have the pictures, of course)... I lose a bit more sleep each day, and grow a bit punchier as a consequence (which accounts for this unusually mindless blathering)... and, yes, I need to sleep!

Happy solstice to all, and to all a good day.

A second crop of roses is budding on the bushes in the back yard. (I wish I could get the fruit trees to do that!) A profusion of new stems have sprouted up from where the old ones were cut. Soon, I will see a burst of color when I look out the kitchen window. One rose in particular is enjoyable to watch as it grows. It begins with a bud that is mostly yellow, but with streaks of red around the bottom, like an apple that is not yet ripe. As it blooms, the red fades to a soft pink blush. This bush is right next to the window, so its flowers are the first thing I see when I look out. They are like bits of sunrise lingering all day.

Who knows where this will lead? )
