Blue Depths

Out to check the early sky. It is pure cobalt, appearing entirely free of clouds for the first time in days. Oddly, it is also entirely free of stars. There were a few out, earlier, but now even those few bright lights which normally gleam well toward dawn have vanished. It could be that dawn will reveal a haze. If so, it is one of remarkable consistency. The entire dome of heaven looks as though painted with a single stroke of a giant brush. I've never seen it look so strange, or so utterly serene.

Gray

I didn't get any email today. Not even spam. I had to send myself something from the New York Times, just to see the little yellow flag pop up. Pathetic.

I was right about the haze. The day is overcast, and the splendid cobalt blue of morning twilight was quickly replaced by gray. The air is cool, but heavy with damp. Add another ten degrees to the temperature, and a bit of diesel exhaust, and it would be a typical May day in Los Angeles. Oh, now I'm all nostalgic.

Just time for a walk before dinner.

Grrrr

Either accursed LJ is not sending me emails of replies, or accursed Juno is not relaying them to my inbox. Of course, I can't blame accursed Juno for accursed LJ being so slow tonight. And there's no point in blaming Sluggo for his repeated crashes. He doesn't care.

Rather than fling Sluggo through the window, I am going to go watch television.
