After Monday's severe sleep disruption, it was no surprise that Tuesday also went pear-shaped. There was a big chunk of nap in its middle, thankfully uninterrupted, ending about half past three in the afternoon. It was sultry by then, but the evening cooled quickly. Part of the day I spent with a neck ache, but have no idea where it came from or where it went. It hurt like hell for about half an hour, then just faded away. Age-related, I suppose.

Outdoors the afternoon was unpleasantly hot, but when early evening brought some relief I sat in the back yard for a while, and the mockingbird sang some songs. I had the feeling that something was about to happen, but it never did, although I did smell pizza for a while. I'm not sure if it was real or just a hallucination, but it made me hungry so I went in and heated up the leftover Asian stuff from two nights before, and it turned out to be better reheated. Leftovers don't usually do that for me, but these did, so I'll have to keep an eye out for when they are on sale again. At the regular price I'd consider them an extravagance, particularly in this period of inflation.

After dinner it was just Idernet, but I didn't come across anything new that made a great impression on me, so I just went to YouTube and nostalgianated myself with familiar music. That is something that runs the risk of courting melancholy, which is how it turned out this time. Now I'm sad. But I'm still listening to that music. I hope to get back to sleep soon, and if I have sad dreams at least I'm unlikely to remember them. Then I will wake up to a hotter day, and have good reason to be sad.
