Warm wind from the northeast has blown all day and is continuing tonight. Aside from the fact that this is the most dangerous sort of weather should a fire get started, I'm enjoying it. The secondary danger of falling pine cones is worth mentioning, but so far I've escaped getting beaned. The clear, warm weather will continue through the weekend, and cooling is expected to begin only next Tuesday. For now, it's very nice here, but since air heats up as it flows down the mountains, the valley and the coast are probably uncomfortably hot. That's another reason to hope no fires get started. If we had to evacuate the town again, it would be a bad time to be in Chico.

Also, I'm gleeful at all the money we're saving by not having to use the furnace. The windows were open all afternoon, and the house is still cozy. Yay Foehn winds.
