Reset Forty-One, Day Thirty

rejectomorphI guess I can give up on anything like my normal abnormal routine for the duration of the heat wave. Thursday got so weird I don't know if I was asleep and dreaming I was insane or insane and imagining I was asleep. There was a bunch of sleep, and it was fairly miserable, and there was also some going outdoors to bake and burn in the relentless sunlight, and some being in the house with the air conditioner running, and some drinking of liquids, and more than a bit of wishing I was somewhere unlike the Suckramento Valley. Somewhere with an ocean, maybe. Somewhere where eating when I was hungry wouldn't make me sick a few minutes later. Yes, I do blame the heat. It's like when somebody vomits and suddenly you feel like vomiting too. That big ball of burning gas in the sky is vomiting its heat all over us, and that just makes me want to puke.
But hooray, I got my utility bill and it was only thirty-one bucks and change, thanks to the credits left over from last winter, which was really mild. Now I feel a bit less bad about the fact that the bill that comes next month will probably be somewhere around a hundred bucks. I can sort of afford it. And maybe I won't even live long enough to have to pay it. There are no clouds, but at least there's a silver lining. Damn, I wish there were some clouds.
