Seasoned

The squirrels have way more fun than I do. On my best day I could never frolic in trees that way. On the other hand, they do have a fairly dull diet, and no beer. I'll consider it a fair trade off.

For a while it looked as if the rain that's not due until tomorrow might get here today, but at the last minute the clouds parted enough to let the setting sun turn the tops of the pines gold and bits of sky lavender. They even let Orion show for a while, but he's gone now, and it feels like rain is imminent again. The night would be still if not for the dog that barks and the acorns that periodically clatter onto rooftops.
