Flash

Too many fireplaces are lit tonight and the whole neighborhood smells of smoke. Normally this wouldn't bother me, but my recent semi-cold has left my nose more sensitive than usual, so I'm dis-enjoying the odor. I'd rather be smelling some fresh coffee, but it's way too late at night to be drinking it.

And I'd much rather have clean air to sniff when I'm watching the Orionid meteor shower tonight. I saw a couple of brief flashes last night, but hope there will be a few better ones before dawn tomorrow. I can't stay out for long, of course, but I'll be able to snatch a few minutes here and there. Luckily it's fairly clear here right now.
