The Long and the Short
Dec. 22nd, 2010 08:17 pmSomehow my schedule got flipped. I fell asleep watching television before eleven o'clock last night, and slept until almost seven this morning. It was quite a shock to wake up with the sun on the wrong side of the sky. I thought the apocolypse had begun. I hate when the apocolypse happens. Then I realized that the sun was on the wrong side of the sky. There was sunshine! It's a wonder I didn't fall into a faint and sleep for several more hours.
But I recovered from the shock and remained awake. Later, when I went out to feed the feral cats their unexpectedly early meal, Farah rubbed my leg and meowed and cavorted happily. She was probably thanking me for ending the rain. She'll be unhappy when it returns on Friday. So will I. I'm heartily tired of rain. But now that winter has officially begun, we're that much closer to its end.
A happy solstice to all, and to all a good night.
