Disrupted

It's an hour past my bedtime and I just woke up. Now what am I to do with an entire hot summer day? It isn't hot yet, of course, but it will be soon enough. The crows are awake and cawing, and the automatic lawn sprinkler next door is chattering, but the newspaper hasn't arrived, so all I have to tell me about yesterday is unruly Internet and silly television. How can I start today when yesterday is still up in the air?

I can't even remember if I dreamed or not. The computer was on all night, so maybe it sucked all the dreams out of my head and took them for itself. The very first thing that crossed my mind when I woke was I'll be late for school! Very late for school indeed.
