Cool

The moonless night will be pleasant once the neighbors turn off their porch light. It's cool outside and I want to sit in the dark and listen to the crickets. It has been nice to have a few cool nights and a few days that have been merely hot rather than torrid. It will come to an end by Thursday, though, when we head back into the 90s. That's no surprise. It was this brief respite that was unusual for the time of year. Tonight is supposed to get cooler than any night yet this summer, and I intend to take full advantage of it. I will leave the windows open and the fan on all night, and by morning I hope to shiver for at least a few minutes. The experience might have to last me all of August.
