Reset Thirty-Nine, Day Seven
Mar. 12th, 2022 02:17 amFriday I spent a whole lot of time in bed again, some of it sleeping and some of it simply too lethargic to get out. When I finally got up, going on one o'clock in the afternoon, I found the day as dull as I'd expected, so headed to YouTube for music with which to counteract the morose mood into which I'd fallen. The Internet was terribly slow all afternoon, but then so was I. I toasted a couple of English muffins and even put the last of the old jar of apple butter on them, but neither music nor muffins ever got me cheerful. Around nine o'clock in the evening I felt sleepy for a while, but didn't give in to the feeling. Instead I embarked on a bit of Internet research into an utterly trivial subject, which kept my brain— or what's left of it— occupied until now.
I'll try to get to sleep again soon, after a bit of paper reading. I'm still feeling sad that the mockingbird never showed up all Friday afternoon. If it had, I'm sure I'd still be sad, but marginally less so, and anyway the lack of mockingbird song is a good excuse to make to oneself for inexplicable sadness.
