Reset Thirty-Nine, Day Twenty-Eight
Apr. 2nd, 2022 03:26 amIt's likely that I got eight hours of sleep Friday morning, but there was about two hours of being awake in the middle of it, so I didn't get up until after two o'clock in the afternoon. I was happy to find that the previous day's sneeze-fest had come to an end. I'm still sneezing, but nowhere near as often. Either whatever was in the air is diminished, or I've gotten used to it.
One thing I'd intended to do Friday was try Safeway's delivery service. Their web site is not as easy to use as that of their main local competitor, but I managed to find my way around it well enough to put together a good-sized order that would have topped a hundred bucks, including all the fees. The problem came when I tried to enter my credit card information. I kept getting an error message telling me to check the information and re-enter it, but there was no mistake in the information. Everything I put in was exactly what it was supposed to be.
After multiple failed attempts to enter my card information so I could place my order I'd just spent a couple of hours putting together, and it was getting very late, I gave up. I have no idea if I was doing something wrong that I just didn't see, or if the web site just had a glitch, but there will be no delivery. Later I got a no-reply email from them, saying "did you forget?" Nope. You just wore me out with fail. Well, I'll just buy from Raley's when I want to order stuff online. Their system actually works for me.
Later I spent more time outdoors in the cool night air, and didn't sneeze, and I smelled that faintly citrusy fragrance that had vanished during the modest rain we had. I also heard the mockingbird singing. It's the first time I've heard it at might since last summer. I like hearing it at night, when it doesn't have so much freeway noise to compete with. I'll go out and see if it is still there after I post this. Then I need to get to bed, as I'm starting to feel very tired again.
