Thursday I managed to get up by noon, and then I managed to make the phone call I've been intending to make (or rather a substitute call that might have accomplished the same thing, had it accomplished anything at all.) It was rather disappointing and anti-climactic, and now there will have to be another call, and I hope I get around to it today, but I really have had enough of reality and remain displeased that I must have even more. It's a long and boring story anyway, and I'll be glad to be done with it, if I ever am.

When I first got up I feared that it might be much later than it turned out to be, as the room was rather dim. In fact it was overcast, and when I first discovered that, I feared that there might be a fire somewhere in the region, but when I went outside there was no smell of smoke, just the chill air of a normal, overcast, central valley spring day. How odd it seemed to have such seasonally appropriate weather! It left me nostalgically sad for vanished times.

The sneezing was somewhat diminished Thursday, probably due to the chill in the air keeping the pollen down. I spent some extra time outdoors watering the Godzilla Bush and the grape vine. Godzilla Bush really needs to be cut back, as it has become nearly impossible to water it, because its enormous mass of growth is so very much in the way. It is a vegetation self-destruct situation. It's a good thing that the grape vine grows from the opposite end of the yard, so I have no trouble getting water to it.

Dinner involved some beans and some bread and butter, and since then some indigestion, which I hope won't keep me awake. Even though it was a fairly cool day, the apartment is hanging on quite well to what heat it gathered over the previous days, so the furnace hasn't come on. The real challenge will come early next week when we get three days in a row with highs in the sixties. There is even a 55% chance of showers Tuesday evening. Probably this spring's last hurrah, as by the next Sunday we will be getting highs in the low nineties. Summer is definitely on the way. I intend to enjoy the few chilly days. Odds are there won't be any more of them until fall.
