Reset Forty-Two, Day Twenty-Six
Jul. 28th, 2022 06:29 amMy Idernet connection decided to act up again Wednesday afternoon. It was slow as hell from when I woke up until about five o'clock, then it gradually got better, and by midnight I was able to play videos again. Then I forgot to charge the phone battery and the Idernet went away again until I dealt with that. I also think I've gotten a mosquito bite on my throat. It's been itching quite annoyingly for the last couple of hours, I and I can't think what else it might be. I'm going to assume that I'll come down with West Nile virus, since that is not an uncommon consequence in sweltery Butte County anymore.
There were cheesy fried potatoes for dinner, and later there was a San Francisco style ice cream sandwich (coffee ice cream between two oatmeal cookies, all dipped in chocolate.) There is also slightly good news about the weather. The long range forecast is now showing only two more days of triple digit highs before they drop down into the nineties for over a week, with somewhat cooler nights (high sixties instead of low seventies.) It's not much of a decline, but every little bit helps.
On the negative side, my left leg has decided to start hurting. It doesn't like sitting or lying down for long, and it doesn't like walking very much either. I'm hoping it won't decide to just crumple under me at some point. But I guess that would more likely be the knee than the leg itself, and so far the knee is no worse than it used to be. And no better than it ought to be. But I'll probably be okay. Except for the whole Wet Nile virus thing. That's going to be a drag.
