Reset Forty-Three, Day Thirty-One
Sep. 7th, 2022 04:41 amThe peak of the heat wave is supposed to be behind us, though it has three more triple-digit days to run. Tuesday was quite appalling, but today should be a bit less so. I can't say the same for the nights. Both tonight and tomorrow night have lows of 77, which qualifies as awful by normal standards in these parts.
For dinner I finished off the canned tamales, which I expected would bring some indigestion but so far not. A period of nodding off around midnight almost sent me to bed, but I was distracted by the failure of my bedside lamp. At first it appeared to be a dead bulb, but a new one didn't work either, so the lamp itself must be broken. I have no idea where to go to get another, now that K-mart is gone. I suppose I'll call a nephew, as they know where stuff is in this town. I'm hoping I can find one nearby. I might try the Goodwill store.
Though I don't like the site, I do check Farcebook now and then to keep up with friends who have no presence elsewhere in teh Idernets, and there is one thing I do like about the place. It sometimes shows me music videos from people I've never heard of, and once in a while one of them will delight me. It happened Tuesday evening with a piece from an Australian guitarist named Alan Gogoll. This version from YouTube is not quite as good visually as the one at Farcebook, but the music is still enjoyable. It's called Mulberry Mouse.
