Well, I got two damned things done Monday, and it should be a while before the next damned thing needs doing. The day was semi-catastrophic, as I got little sleep the previous ight, and then was late getting around to napping, then overnapped and had to rush to get to the DMV on time, and was utterly exhausted for the trip to the stores. I'm a bit surprised that I haven't collapsed since getting home, but I do feel the collapse is imminent (rather like the end of civilization.) I didn't buy any really impressive foods, but did manage to stock up on canned soups, which will be nice for the upcoming cold weather. Cold, and blessedly wet.
And yes, I did get wet when I went out. I also discovered that my night blindness is even more intense when the streets are wet. The sight of a nocturnal bus headed toward the downtown plunged me into a brief nostalgia, intensified by the fact that my blurry vision made the mini-metropolis look even more like just about anywhere else than it usually does. I suddenly recalled riding a bus to downtown Los Angeles one winter night to see a movie I've since forgotten. My brain would be a pleasant place to hang out in my old age, had it not lost most of the details it once held.
Once again I've skipped dinner, and I'm too tired now to stay up and fix something. Hunger will probably wake me at some ungodly hour and I'll fix something then. Maybe heat one of those cans of soup. It's been ages since I've had soup for breakfast. Or has it? I really don't remember.
