Reset Forty-Three, Day Twelve
Aug. 18th, 2022 04:52 amBefore going to sleep Wednesday morning I cooled the apartment off as I usually do by turning the thermostat down to 72 and letting the AC run for one cycle. Then I usually turn it back up to 77. But this time I fell asleep before turning it back up, and then I forgot to do it when I woke up that afternoon. It wasn't until after six o'clock in the evening that I realized I was much too comfortable, checked the thermostat and discovered that I'd been running the machine all day. That eleven hours of comfort probably added three or four bucks to my next electric bill.
Other than that, the day was indistinguishable from any other sultry summer day, except that a magazine arrived in the snail mail. I put it somewhere and forgot it. Later I ate a sandwich. I keep forgetting to do laundry, and to eat ice cream, of which I have a decent supply, and I also forgot to try to remember if I watered the back yard Sunday, though I don't think I did. I should probably do that later today. But of course sleep first. I don't remember when I woke up on Wednesday, but it was long enough ago that I now feel quite tired.
It remains miserably hot outside.
