Thursday, or at least those parts of it for which I was awake, stayed pretty rainy. When I went out to check the mailbox I had to put on my regular shoes, as the slippers I now routinely wear would have soaked up too much water, My swollen feet were not happy about the shoes, and insisted that I remove them as soon as I returned from the errand. It the swelling doesn't go down, don't see how I'll ever be able to leave the apartment again. I certainly wouldn't be able to walk any significant distance. The 200 foot round trip to the mailbox was a nightmare.

Speaking of nightmares, I think I had one during my second sleep, which lasted from about seven in the evening until near midnight. I don't remember the dream itself, but I remember waking up in a cold sweat, certain that doom was imminent. It was very quiet, as outside the rain had stopped and the air was still. I think that the only thing that kept me alive in that moment was the fact that I badly needed to get up and pee.

Dinner was had after midnight again, and has now worn off, and I'm having a snack of popcorn before attempting sleep. The morning is gray, and the day is to be rainy again. So far the coast has gotten the worst of the storm, but the valley has gotten some local flooding here and there— well, mostly there, as nothing much has happened here in the mini-metropolis, yet. Wake me up if it floods. If it blows away I'm sure I'll know.
