Reset Forty-Seven, Day Thirty-Seven
Jan. 5th, 2023 10:56 amWednesday the storm didn't arrive until fairly late, and I had actually gone to sleep. Sudden, furious wind arose and rain spattered the windows and a loud boom awoke me, but the boom wasn't thunder, it was just the wind. I was so sleepy that it didn't keep me awake, though I woke to loud noise a few more times over the next couple of hours. I finally got up at ten o'clock, fixed a sandwich for dinner and listened to the mostly gentler rain that fell after that, then went back to sleep about two in the morning.
I've been sleeping a lot, but seldom for more than four hours at a time. I've now been up since half past six, and just ate some pancakes. I'm thinking I might go back to sleep. It's still raining a bit, and there is heavy overcast, so no bright sunlight to keep me awake. At least my feet seem to be slightly less swollen than they were, though still sore and itchy.
The long range forecast is still showing twelve consecutive days of rain or showers, with no highs above 55 and no lows below 38. Is this winter, or are we trapped in a giant cold storage warehouse with a malfunctioning sprinkler system?
