Reset Forty-Seven, Day Forty-One
Jan. 9th, 2023 09:16 amSunday is already just about forgotten. I arranged for a grocery pickup today, then went to Safeway's web site and started assembling an order. About ten o'clock I felt the need of a nap, so let the computer sleep too, and then I didn't wake up until four o'clock this morning. Getting back to the shopping order, I found more stuff than I'd expected, and ran up quite a bill. Then the fun began. At the checkout I discovered that there were no pickup times available today. How the hell does that happen? Did the store just not hire enough people? Did part of the parking lot wash away in the storm? Hell if I know.
I do know I've had more trouble ordering online form Safeway than from the other store, but this problem was entirely new. Now I would either have to choose a pickup time tomorrow without knowing if I could actually arrange for somebody to pick the stuff up, or I could wait until my niece was available to see what time she might have available Tuesday. Then while I was dithering, Safeway's web site went catawampus. I got a 404 page, and then when I when I finally got back to their front page it wouldn't allow me to sign in. It still hasn't been fixed. I'm now thinking maybe I should just abandon the cart and go order something from Raley's, even though they won't have most of what I ordered from Safeway, or at least not on sale. It's a digital pigs breakfast.
And speaking of breakfast, I didn't feel like fixing any so I just assembled a tuna sandwich, and opened a beer. And it's rainy and windy today. And I've got low grade headache, partly brought on by dealing with Safeway. Maybe I should just go back to bed.
