Reset Forty-Eight, Day Thirteen
Feb. 27th, 2023 04:22 amI slept late Sunday afternoon, waking in a dim room and looking out the window to see a nostalgia-laden rainstorm spilling drops that drew patterns of the past with spattering dots in driveway pools. Though fray sky and falling water evoked memories, they were not strong enough to wash away the ruins of the present, so I did those things I do thee days, and was in due time fed and clothed and immersed in the flow of Idernet.
I made a decent sandwich for dinner, but managed to endure only five hours or so of waking, and returned to bed about seven o'clock in the evening to sleep another four hours. By that time the rain had ended, and I've since filled the silence of its absence with music from YouTube. But as it seems I can only deal with being awake for about five hours at a stretch anymore, I should get back to bed soon. It's still very cold, an will be for several days. More rain is likely today,
Also, a yellow balloon has appeared in my backyard. I don't know how long it's been there, or where it came from. I don't even remember the last time I looked out there, but I didn't see it then. It's just sitting there on the ground, apparently filled with air rather than helium. How did it ever get over the tall fence? It hasn't been very windy. Is the balloon an omen? Life is just weird in this place. It's no wonder I'm tired all the time.
