Awaking Monday I checked on the balloon I found trapped in my back yard Sunday night and discovered that, by natural light, it is not yellow, but pink. That provides no clue to the balloon's origin, of course, but accuracy of description cannot hurt, even when it fails to help. Unless, of course, the balloon is on the lam, and the new description of its color has revealed its whereabouts to whoever is stalking it, and I will soon witness a horrible balloon assassination. Sorry, balloon.

Because I woke up to early Sunday, I ended up eating dinner too early— late lunch time, in fact— and then got sleepy too early, so ended up taking a nap in the afternoon even though there was no sunlight to fall on the bed from the overcast and drizzly sky. During that nap I must have gotten my legs into a bad position, as when I woke up I could barely use them. I know that eventually, barring an earlier demise, I'll be needing a walker of some sort, but for a few minutes I thought that the day had arrived sooner than expected.

After the better part of an hour I did manage to get the legs working well enough that I could take the wheelie bin out to the street, but the fact is they are still rather sore even now, some six hours later. I'm feeling like I need to get more sleep, but I'm now gun shy. I've gotten my arms into bad positions in my sleep before, needing several minutes to regain functionality, but this is the first time I an remember my legs getting that treatment. It's disconcerting.

Also disconcerting, I've bitten my cheek, lip, or tongue at least five times in the last twenty hours. My oral coordination has been poor for years, but now it appears to be going to hell in a handbasket mounted on a racing bike. I sure hope I don't give myself rabies. Tasting my own blood is bad enough. The most recent bite was just a short time ago when I was having a bedtime owl of ramen. Spicy ramen, at that, and the bitten lip did not like the spices after it got bit. I need to be more careful.

Anyway, I got through Monday, though I got very little done yet again. My Idernet has been agonizingly slow for some reason. That means a limited selection of music available. I did manage to download a nice violin duo (with piano accompaniment) of Charlie Chaplin's song "Smile" performed by Phillippe Quint and Joshua Bell, with Marta Aznavoorian on piano. After seven decades of hearing it I'm still amazed that a song called "Smile" is so apt to make people tear up.
