Reset Forty-Eight, Day Twenty-Three
Mar. 9th, 2023 07:34 amIntermittent rain again Wednesday, most of which I slept through then some sunshine in the afternoon, most of which I also slept through. In fact I didn't get up until after five o'clock in the evening, and got tired again just a few hours later and was asleep again by ten, and woke up again about half past two in the morning. Sleep is a good way to avoid big chunks of reality, but then the reality that is unavoidable gets weird. My dinner was around four o'clock in the morning, and when I dozed off at the computer and woke up again I didn't know where I was for a couple of minutes. I don't mean I thought I was somewhere else, I just had no idea where where I was was. I'm thinking it won't be long before my brain goes to that big nowhere nobody recognizes.
It's supposed to be rainy again today, and windy, and this could be a pretty big storm. Right now it's just gray and cold. I'm trying to decide if I should try to eat again before trying to go to sleep again. It's all very trying. In the meantime I've been listening to Clare Torry's marvelous vocal improvisation for "Great Gig in the Sky" from Pink Floyd's Dark Side of the Moon album. It suits my mood. And why wouldn't I be in a mood? The album was recorded fifty freaking years ago, and I was in my twenties when it was released. Oh, time, you bastard.
