Reset Forty-Eight, Day Forty-Three
Apr. 7th, 2023 06:19 amThursday morning I stayed awake about three hours before heading back to bed to finish sleeping. It was very late afternoon when I finally woke again, and the midday sun had vanished, replaced by clouds which were steadily misting. I managed to get out to check the mailbox before actual rain began, though it wouldn't have mattered had I not, as the mailbox was empty. Back in the house I opened the blinds so I could watch the overcast sky. We've had a lot of that this year, but it could soon be coming to an end. I think I'll miss it. I won't mind being a bit warmer, and using less energy in the furnace, but I'm not looking forward to the glare. My eyes have gotten more sensitive to it, and prefer the gray days, as well as the longer nights.
I went back to Kohl's web site to see about buying those blankets I wanted, which I could partly pay for with the bonus store "cash" they gave me, and found that I could also get an extra 30% off the sale prices. I decided to get a couple more pair of the very comfy knit lounge pants I bought last time, and then another one of the very soft hoodies, and then decided to add a couple more of the very soft flannel shirts, and then a couple of towels and a couple of wash cloths, and finally a pair of larger slippers than I got last time, as those were a bit too tight while my feet are swollen but will probably be fine when the swelling goes down.
Oh, and I also came across some tank tops I wanted, but they were not available for delivery and I didn't know if I could arrange for anyone to pick them up from the store. I certainly can't get down there myself. I settled on getting one more expensive tank top, and in the end I found myself ordering a total of a dozen items for a bit over $132, after using up the store bonus cash and the last 37 bucks on my old gift card. And that includes the ten bucks and change in sales tax for the State, County and City.
So I'll be getting a package (or more likely packages) delivered next week. No rain is in the forecast then, but that could always change. Of course it wouldn't matter, since I'm not going anywhere and would be here to snatch stuff out of the rain, unless I was asleep, which I could surely arrange to avoid when I get notification. Actually I think my brain is just getting tired after this long night and trying to borrow trouble. I'll put it to bed now.
