Reset Forty-Eight, Day Fifty-Four
Apr. 18th, 2023 05:53 amMonday I got my groceries, and was surprised that the store made only two minor substitutions. Aside from those I got everything I'd ordered. That is so rare. I also got the first package from my recent Kohl's order. It was one non-flannel shirt, and it's going to be quite a nice one to have in the summer. Another package is going to have three flannel shirts, which I'll get plenty of use from for what remains of spring.
Speaking of spring, a superbloom is expected here this year. That's when a bumper crop of wildflowers bloom. It's already underway, but won't hit its peak for a couple of weeks. It occurred to me today that the pollen is probably why I've been feeling crappy. My nose has been stopped up a lot. Usually pollen makes me sneeze, but there hasn't been as much of that a usual. It might pick up as the bloom continues.
Another bit of bad news on Monday was that my application to do online banking was declined by my bank I've dealt with for over a decade. I have no idea why. There was no explanation in the terse email they sent me. I suppose I'll have to call them. Maybe I just failed to jump through an invisible hoop. Again. But it's getting more and more difficult to get out and do things, so I need to do the banking online. If that bank can't accommodate me, I'll have to find another. I'm considering one of the online-only banks. One of them has multiple feeless ATMs available right in my neighborhood.
I forgot to mail my bills this month. A whole stack of them I'd made out a week ago was sitting around until Monday afternoon. I get dumber all the time. I'm sure there's other stuff I've forgotten too, but I won't know what it is until dire consequences ensue. Old guys probably shouldn't be left on their own. A
Hey, the furnace just came on. That's the first time since early Monday morning. Now I can appreciate the quiet I just lost. It's just about bedtime, too. The nap I took after my exhausting wait for my groceries to be picked up was not very restful. If I get to sleep in the next few minutes I'll probably wake up around then o'clock in the morning. There's a fresh package of donuts. Then I can call and nag my bank. And maybe another of my packages will arrive.
