Reset Forty-Eight, Day Fifty-Five
Apr. 19th, 2023 05:21 amThe second of three packages I was expecting arrived Tuesday, bearing my three flannel shirts and two pairs of soft, knit lounge pants. The last package has two tank tops, and I'm really looking forward to having those. The one I'm wearing now has a crew neck, which is very annoying, and I have only one other in the large size with a scoop neck. All the others are mediums, now too small for me and terribly uncomfortable.
I called my bank and asked why my application for online account access was denied, and they said it was because I gave them the wrong email address. I don't remember using my other email when I signed up with them, but it was a long time ago, so geezer memory issue. They put the information into my file so I can use either one now. Might not have to go to the bother of switching banks now, but I'm still thinking about it. I could actually earn a meaningful amount of interest for deposits at an online bank.
Spring is going to end pretty fast here. Like, almost before it begins. Today is the last day in the forecast with a high in the sixties. Thursday will hit seventy two, and after that we get eight days in a row with highs in the eighties. The nights will be cool, so I can probably avoid using the air conditioner if I open the windows in the evenings to cool the place off. But this is weather I don't really like to see until May. That mass of snow in the Sierras will be melting pretty fast, but at least there's no warm rain in the forecast. That would melt it even faster than dry heat, and add extra water too boot. That would really be a worst case and set us up for a major flooding disaster.
I failed to check the weather report before assembling my shopping list the other day, and a couple of the meals I planned for will require the oven, so I'll have to time those carefully. A heat wave is no time for baking and roasting. I wish I could find more stuff for the microwave on sale. Frozen entrees are too expensive.
Time to put my aching back and stuffy nose to bed. Boy, I'll bet the already bad pollen will get absolutely horrendous when it heats up later this week.
