Each day seems a bit more bizarre than the last, but probably isn't. It's my brain that's seeing more bizarre. I am more bizarre. Also itchy. My right foot had an itch all Day Tuesday, and I think it might have been a mosquito bite. My feet usually end up outside the covers when I sleep, and since I haven't been wearing socks my feet are vulnerable to passing insects. I'd hate to have to go back to wearing socks, as not only have my feet felt better without them, but my stiffening joints and general decline in physical flexibility has made it very difficult to put the little buggers on. The same debilities have made cutting my toenails far more difficult, and their untrimmed or poorly trimmed state adds to the difficulty of getting socks on, as the nails get caught in the fabric. Age says HA HA.

So I woke up and scratched a lot Tuesday, and then finally gave up on sleep and just web surfed for hours, then substituted ramen for dinner, and then had my phone battery die earlier than I'd expected, and while waiting for it to recharge just rested on the bed for a bit, which of course turned into sleep which didn't end until two o'clock this morning. Just a new normal day, in other words. Now my foot isn't itching anymore, but my neck sure as hell is. I'll need to sleep more soon, but that itch is likely to keep me awake. Lather, rinse, repeat.

It's already up to 73 degrees here, heading for 90, and I forgot to open the windows and turn on the fan overnight. The stupid strikes again. Also stupid: I just ate ice cream. I know lots of sugar before bed makes sleeping more difficult. Why do I do that? Self-sabotage on course. Forget the life jackets. We won't need them. They interfere with drowning anyway.
