The weather report from Sacramento (which is where Microsoft seems to think I am, and I have no intention of correcting it) is saying there is limited visibility. Here, there is a bit of haze in the air, but nothing I could call fog. it was the same thing on Tuesday morning, when I hoped to at least see the streetlights along the freeway dimmed and wrapped in fuzzy haloes. No such luck. I slept all morning and woke to a depressingly sunny afternoon, then had an evening nap before fixing a largish dinner that I managed to devour completely. Where do I get such an appetite for my own bad cooking while doing little more than sleep and vegetate? One of the mysteries of fading life.
The supermarkets have disappointed me again. I'd planned on getting stuff this week, either Friday or next Monday, but the stores are having wretched sales again this week, offering mediocre prices on stuff I don't want or need. If I don't go, it will throw off my timing and I'll run out of stuff I need. I'll probably end up buying something at one of them, but I won't be happy about it. This town needs a better assortment of stores. There's just not enough competition.
An hour or so ago I was sleepy and ready for bed, but didn't go and now I'm feeling awake again. I think I'll go to bed anyway, though I'll probably just lie there awake for a couple of hours and then get up again. Maybe I can have a nice fantasy about being somewhere else. Maybe someplace foggy, or with more supermarkets. Later I get to have a donut. That's something to look forward to.
