Tuesday's rain fizzled in the valley, but the mountains did get a bit more snow. Valley rain can help recharge the aquifer, but it's snow in the mountains that provides the bulk of our water supply, so that's still a good thing. I got a fairly long evening sleep as well as the morning sleep, and the periods of waking were not too exhausting. I didn't feel like cooking dinner so just microwaved a bowl of ramen.

I have to be careful eating soup any more. That mechanism that prevents liquids from going into my lungs is deteriorating, and I am likely to choke at least once each time I eat runny foods. Solids are less of a problem so far, and regular drinking doesn't overwhelm it yet. It's just the small bits of liquid, like spoonsfull of soup, that are difficult for it. My dad developed the same problem and eventually had to have a bypass so he could be fed through a tube directly into his stomach. He was miserable with it, and didn't live long after the surgery anyway, so I don't think I'll be getting one of those. If it gets to the point I can't swallow anymore, I'll just go ahead and starve.

Cheerful thoughts. Anyway, I don't have to eat while I'm asleep, and I like sleeping, so I'm going to go do some of that right now. My brain doesn't want to think any more right now anyway. It rarely does these days.
