There was an artichoke I'd forgotten in the refrigerator (the out-of-sight out-of-mind vegetable bin) so I boiled it up for Sunday dinner, along with some egg noodles dressed with butter, olive oil, garlic, parmesan and provolone cheeses. I'd have had some garlic toast with it, but the bread had gone moldy on me, and I'd have had a salad, but I forgot to buy lettuce. I was sure I had some, but no. Almost time for a shopping day.

Sleeping Sunday night I made a huge tangle of my bedclothes again. I woke up trapped and struggled to free myself, which took almost a minute. I guess that makes me a lot like Nelson Mandela. Or maybe it's Nelson from The Simpsons. It's hard to remember sometimes. Anyway, I ended up spending about an hour this morning lying in bed thinking about I don't recall what, but I'm sure it was negative. The thought of a fresh donut finally got me out of bed, and here I've been ever since, trying to recall if I had anything planned for today and, if so, what the hell it is.

I should probably soak my feet. They hurt. I should probably soak my head too. It also hurts. What else? Can't remember. Well, I definitely have to reconstruct my bed. That will be so exhausting that I'll probably need a nap right after, and will then mess it up again. It's the hamster wheel of life.

Oh, right, Eclipse day. It's only partial here (and very partial at that) so I doubt I'll bother with it. It's supposed to have already begun, and will reach maximum at 11:16, then end around 12:18. The odds that my little corner of the mini-metropolis will be seriously damaged are small. The path of total destruction runs from Texas to New England. Too bad I never got to visit those places. Too late now. Goodbye, Dallas. Goodbye, Indianapolis. Goodbye, Buffalo. R.I.P.
