Reset Forty-Nine, Day Four Hundred-Three
Jul. 3rd, 2024 03:13 amThe plumbers didn't get to my apartment Tuesday, and didn't even stop by, so I'm assuming that what I was told Monday still stands: If they couldn't get my place done Tuesday it probably wouldn't get done until Friday at the earliest. This is dragging out way longer than I'd hoped. I'm hoping to get some groceries either Friday of Monday, and if the Friday sale has the good stuff I'll could be trying to stash stuff away while plumbers are making a zoo of the kitchen. Plus Friday is supposed to have a high of 115, so Solar Daymare!!!
Today is only expected to reach 111, so only two degrees hotter than Tuesday was. Yeah, sure I can deal with that [[faints]]. I spent quite a bit of Tuesday sleeping fitfully, as my Indernet went out on me. I tried reading a book but couldn't concentrate. I drank a camel-load of water but hardly pissed at all. I sweated so much that I suspect any dust mites who were living in my bed are either drowned or have been converted into mud mites. I wasn't able to get the windows open and fan on until around three o'clock this morning, so the place hasn't cooled off much. At least I got my Idernet back this evening. I think it may have suffered heatstroke for a while.
I had plans to fix something for dinner that I really need to use up, but it was so hot in here and my brain so fried that I ended up microwaving a frozen entrée instead. I wish I could simply have eaten my fried brain. Would have been easier, cooler, and without a brain I wouldn't know how miserable I am tonight. And now I'm going to turn off the computer and all the lights an lie on the bed and enjoy the breeze from the fan. It's 77 degrees in here, and I'm actually grateful it's that cool. That's how bad it is here. And it's going to get worse.
