Reset Fifty, Day Two

At last there is hot water to go with our hot air. The plumbers finished around seven o'clock Friday evening, after working all day. But everything is fixed. The hot water works, the shower works, the garbage disposal works, and so far I've seen no leaks in my apartment. I don't know how the other apartments are doing. But it's all over but the inspection and then the drywall repair. Just a bit more disruption at some undetermined time, probably this coming week, and my life can go back to its normal summer hellishness.

Friday I failed to do the laundry though. When I went out I saw that the plumbers' truck was already here, though parked in the street instead of the usual parking area. I figured they'd soon be turning the water off to do their thing, but it turned out that they didn't turn it off until eleven o'clock in the morning. I'd have had time to do at least two loads, and maybe three.

I was awake whole lot Friday, though not particularly aware, and after the water came back I collapsed in exhaustion and didn't even take a shower. There wasn't even any dinner, so Friday dinner might become lunch today. Bur I woke up around three o'clock in the morning, and that means odd sleeping patterns today as well, so maybe no lunch either. At some point I expect another nap. I don't know if I have energy to attempt laundry again. Or even a shower. Or dinner. Maybe I'll just go to sleep and see if I can dream clean clothes and a feast. More likely I'll dream a steam bath and a mouth full of brimstone.
