Reset Fifty, Day One

I'm guessing the part the plumbers need did not arrive Thursday, or did not arrive early enough for them to have the time they needed to finish the job here. I got through the sultry morning and torrid midday and then crashed about four in the afternoon, and didn't wake up until after nine o'clock. Made some late dinner, and then had to sleep again before the outdoors got cool enough to allow open windows and fan blowing. I got to bed about two and hoped I'd wake up by four, when cooling with outdoor air would be possible, but what with all the sweating I do in this weather, my two-hour pee alarm didn't work and I slept until five. I've had two hours of fan and windows, and its almost time to shut it all down again. The outdoor temperature is up to 79 already, heading for 111. I managed to get the apartment down to 78. Good grief.

I have a notion I might try to do some laundry this morning, before it gets too much hotter. I'm semi-rested, and none of the other tenants seem to be around, so the facility is available. The only thing that would be likely to screw it up is the arrival of the plumbers. They probably will come, and interrupt my laundry session, but at least I can probably get one load done first. We make do with what we've got, and then life makes do on us.
