Thursday once again I failed to fix any dinner, but as I spent so much time sleeping perhaps I didn't need any nutrition. I lately rectified the absence of significant foods by heating a frozen lasagna in the actual oven. It's the first time I've used it in months, and so my first lasagna in months. The apartment was cool enough that I didn't fear a bit of extra heat, and I did enjoy the lasagna. I only hope it doesn't precipitate another bout of acid reflux.

My intention was to have a spinach salad with the lasagna, but I had forgotten how long the spinach had been in the veg bine, and it turned out to be too far gone to eat. So too, alas, was the romaine, so I ended up with no salad. I'd be better off if I had a refrigerator with the freezer on the bottom, because in the standard refrigerator the beg bins are too low to deal with comfortably, so I end up not looking in them often and stuff I've forgotten gets all rotty on me.

Right now I'm sitting in the breeze from an open window and listening to morning birds chirp. It's 66 degrees outside, and about 73 inhere, and I've probably got close to two hours before it gets warmer outside than it is in here and I have to close the window and turn off the fan. I'm still not accustomed to the luxury of cool nights, and it looks like they'll be around at least two more weeks, and probably longer. Even though there could be two or three triple-digit highs around the middle of next week, the nights will continue to be in the sixties.

I got the latest utility bill Thursday, and it was ten dollars less than the previous one, so we are definitely over the hump. In fact the most dire weather news today is that a flash flood watch has ben declared for areas in the Park Fire burn scar. The chance of rain is only 15% today and 24% tomorrow, but it might be more likely in the mountains. It's supposed to be mostly cloudy here today, but this morning I am seeing quite a bit of blue sky around the clouds.

My very late dinner (or more likely the beer I had with it) has made me a bit sleepy, so I might go lie down and se if I nod off. I'll try reading a bit. I'll have most of the electric stuff turned off, so I can get ahead start on an even lower electric bill next month. There were few days this summer that I didn't think I'd even make it to next month. I still might not, but if I don't it probably won't be heat that kills me. More likely indigestion.
