It looks as though I might have, at least temporarily, solved the problem of having dinner at dawn. I didn't eat dinner Tuesday night, opting to sleep instead, but after waking up at three o'clock this morning I merely toyed with the idea of fixing dinner belatedly, and simply took the edge off my appetite by munching a few chips and a small piece of cake instead. If I stay awake long enough perhaps I'll eat Tuesday's dinner for lunch. At the moment, I'm contemplating having my breakfast donut, and then maybe a bit of watermelon. This might be the last watermelon of the year, and I've got three slices left.

It's not quite as cool in here this morning as it was yesterday, but it's still gotten down to 73 degrees. The local heat advisory is still on, from eleven o'clock this morning until eight o'clock Friday evening. I'm hoping this will be the final heat wave of the year. A week from today the predicted high is only 78, and there will be a 30% chance of afternoon rain, though after that the days will return to the eighties and nineties, but no triple digit highs are in the forecast after this Friday. What the later part of September will bring is still a mystery. Sometimes it stays hot, and sometimes it cools off and even rains. I know what I want, but will I get it? Probably not.

It feels later in the day than the clock says it is. Did daylight saving time end? I don't think so. I'm probably just wearing out. Maybe I'll attempt a nap instead of eating my donut. I'm getting pretty good at skipping meals. Too bad my ass doesn't seem to realize it. I wouldn't mind having less of it to haul around, and my knees would surely be delighted.
