When I went to bed Thursday evening I had the sudden thought that I hadn't posted a journal entry that day. When I got up this morning I still couldn't remember, but when I checked I discovered that I had. My brain grows ever fuzzier. Now I'm up to forgetting that I remembered stuff.

The cooler days and nights continue, with a peak coolness Saturday, when the high is predicted to be 75, with a 24% chance of rain. The rain seems unlikely to work out, but there's another chance next week, with a predicted high of 72 on Wednesday, with a 51 chance of showers. This is probably a bit more likely. But we'll be getting three days in a row with highs in the seventies, so we're getting to that time of year when I have to start conserving the day's heat so I can avoid turning the furnace on at night. I hope to get through October before needing to heat the place. Odds are looking good, since after those three days in the seventies it's back to highs in the eighties at least through the 25th.

Today I have to see about arranging for some minimal groceries this weekend. There won't be big shopping, due to the crappiness of Safeway's sale this week. But I'll be running out of a few items and need to get them replaced. I'd rather do big shopping and get it out of the way, but won't be happening. Little shopping has its own, irritating tediousness. I just fortified myself with a bowl of breakfast ramen. It's the same as regular ramen, but eaten for breakfast. I'm out of donuts, damn it.

Mockingbird in the back yard. A morning treat thanks to cooler days with windows open. The world seems less broken when I hear the mockingbird sing.
