Tuesday my niece picked up a half gallon of milk for me. Getting that, me fixing dinner, and then remembering to check the mailbox, was pretty much all that was accomplished, but three things in one day is actually pretty good at my stage of life. I got very tired in the evening, and went to take a nap. The nap ended up lasting for quite a while, and it was almost five o'clock in the morning when I got up, though I'd been lying in bed more awake than not for an hour or two before then. There was a dream fragment, or maybe just a fantasy, of me being eaten by dogs, but as is usual my mind then wandered on to other things, most of which I've forgotten, but which were much less distressing. I was even something resembling happy, or at least contented, for a few minutes.

Since I got up so late, I drank my orange juice then ate my breakfast cupcake with a half glass of iced latte, a nice change from the usual iced tea, and have been doing Idernet things ever since. Most likely I won't get much done today, either, but I'll just believe that it doesn't matter. It would be nice if I still got things done as I sometimes used to, but there's a pretty good chance I won't be around long enough to suffer catastrophic consequences from my failures, so why worry? Of course, not being around much longer might actually be one of those consequences, but at this point I doubt I could fix that. Che sera.

A whole breezy day of 71 degrees ahead, and several chillier days with chances of showers during the first week of November, after a few warmer days for the rest of October. It might be rather pleasant. I think I'll read some more, since books are usually more interesting than my own life these days. But then when hasn't it been?
