Reset Forty-Seven, Day Fourteen

rejectomorphWhat I got done Monday was arrange for groceries to be picked up Tuesday evening. They are all ordered and the pickup time has been selected, and now I only have to wait to see how much of the stuff I actually get, and what strange things will be substituted for the things I don't. I had a few moments of unwanted excitement after spending two hours getting the cart filed and then having the checkout page of the web site repeatedly fail to load. I finally re-launched the page in a new tab, and that worked. Shopping. The perfect balance of anxiety and disappointment. Ech.
It's going down to 31 degrees tonight, and will drop into the low thirties every night for the rest of the week. It's definitely feeling winterish, but no more rain is predicted until next week, and then not very much. Days will get into the mid-fifties. Something I ordered from the store is a couple of persimmons. They ripen in winter so we can keep our tongues warm with that fur they put on them. Nature is so thoughtful.
I also ordered a pomegranate, the other essential winter fruit. Had I thought of it, I'd have looked to see if they had any dates in stock. Around Christmastime we always got a big box of dates from my grandfather when I was a kid. I didn't much like them then, but they got more appealing as I got older, and now I quite enjoy a few medjools this time of year. They are a timely reminder that sometimes things are better than we think they are, or at least not as bad.
And with that drooled-out pearl of wisdom I think I should hit the sack. It's going to be a busy day. Plus I need to sleep off my indigestion. I think I put way too much mustard on my dinner sandwich.
