Reset Forty-Eight, Day Thirty-One
Mar. 27th, 2023 02:51 amSunday became another day I didn't feel like cooking or eating an actual meal, so I snacked on chips in the afternoon, and later I microwaved a package of yakisoba noodles in a teriyaki sauce. Naturally I've got indigestion. I probably would have gotten indigestion from an actual meal too, but it would have taken a lot more work. It's nice that I can put a package in the microwave and start getting my indigestion five minutes later. Modern convenience! Progress!
It's quite late now, I'm sitting here huddled under a throw that keeps trying to slip off, and I'm counting aches and pains because, well, got no sheep. There's the acid stomach, of course, and the pain under my right rib cage, and the sore toes on my left foot that I banged on a door jamb earlier, and the cramp in the left side of my neck, and the unpleasant tingling in my legs which seem to go to sleep with the greatest of easy anymore when I'm sitting down, and eve so many more. Becoming a mess in old age is normal of course, but that doesn't mean it can't come as an expected surprise. I've been sitting too long, and my legs in particular want to go to bed. My back won't mind either.
Safeway hands out shopping rewards for buying stuff, and they can be redeemed for more stuff or for discounts, and I just discovered that I have four rewards expiring at the end of this month, so I need to use them by Friday. I wasn't planning more shopping this soon, but it ought to be done. Well I guess it gives me a chance to put some sort of antacid on my list. Nothing I have on hand seems to be working. There are plenty more annoyances, but getting rid of one would be an improvement.
Tonight is the coldest night in the current spell, and I'm really feeling it. I need to get into my warm bed. Heavy clouds return later today to trap some heat, and bring rain tomorrow. And damn, there's the reflux. Kill me now.
