Reset Forty-Eight, Day Thirty-Three
Mar. 29th, 2023 03:40 amA couple of sunny hours Tuesday afternoon provided the respite I needed to bring in the wheelie bin and check the mailbox. The was a magazine, only damp on one end. At dusk I got very cold and climbed under the warm covers for a nap, which lasted about three hours. I hated getting up but had to pee. Bodily functions are so annoying. I got hungry too, and made a moderately tasty stew that I ate too much of, and have felt bloated since. I can't wait to get back to bed.
Today part of the stuff I ordered from Kohl's is supposed to be delivered by FedEx. The rest of it was due to arrive Friday via UPS, but I just got an email notification from them saying that a railroad mechanical failure had caused a delay. They didn't give a new arrival time. Well, if railroads are involved I'm thinking I might never get the package. Railroads aren't what they used to be. I'm imagining my shredded package lying in a snowbank amid a strew of wreckage along the tracks somewhere in Iowa. Serves me right for not getting off my arse and going to the mall.
In better news, this week's grocery ads are out, and Safeway has a few good deals. Not exactly the ones I'd like most, but a fairly decent array. I can live with it. I'll aim for Friday, if my stomach has not yet digested the entire remainder of my body by then. Today is likely to bring more rain (I hope the package FedEx is bringing doesn't get wet,) but it will probably be the last for a few days. It's looking like a wet spring is ahead, though not as wet as winter was. Anything that holds off the pollen season is okay with me. I don't need sneezing on top of everything else that's annoying me.
Found another piece of new music I like. It's from a Portland (Oregon) indie/alternative band called Eyelids, and they've been around quite a while but I've only just found them. Their latest album just dropped March 10, and "They Said So" is one of the singles from it. It's a banger (not a Bangor (Maine)). I absolutely love it, and I'm actually glad I lived long enough to hear it, even though the video is full of creepy anthropomorphic muppet things.
