Friday groceries got fetched, and bit of clothing, but it wasn't entirely successful. I thought I'd ordered a gallon of milk but only got a half gallon, so I'll run out early. I got some good bargains, but also bought a couple of things I thought better of later, and forgot a couple of things I ought to have gotten. I've had a lack of clear thought lately. Well, always, but more so lately, and the heat isn't helping. Oh, the clothing, picked up from Kohl's, was two tank tops (I wanted four, but they had only two left in stock) which for some reason were not available for delivery.

One decision I'm second guessing was only buying $100.00 worth of Wayfair gift cards at Safeway, to get those two lamps I wanted. Since then I've been wondering if maybe I ought to have bought more, as Wayfair also has other stuff I could use. As Safeway was giving out 8x bonus points for buying the cards, each fifty bucks worth of card can translate into savings of around seven bucks on my next Safeway order. Just buying stuff directly from Wayfair without using a gift card is like leaving cash on the table at Safeway. On the other hand, Wayfair gives 10% off your first order, so not spending more this time, even without a gift card, is like leaving cash on the table there. Well, I guess nobody said being a penny-pinching miser was easy.

The apartment is cooling off nicely this evening. Last night I forgot to turn on the fan, and by the time I went to bed it had only cooled down to 74, which was much too warm for comfortable sleeping. It's at 72 right now, and ought to get down to 69 or 70 by the time I want to sleep. Outside is already sweater weather, but that's the way it is around here in spring. Even with a cool night, it takes the building nearly until dawn to void the heat of a 90 degree day. Once the nights warm up, it will never cool off in here without the air conditioner. I want to avoid that as long as possible. Just like every year. The more things change....
