I'm just losing track of everything anymore. Monday evening I slept a lot, after my exciting day of going to the bank and picking up groceries. I remembered a whole bunch of things, including most of what I wanted to order from the store, and even remembered to shave and to put on my outdoor pants before I went out, and it wasn't until I was out of the car and crossing the bank's parking lot that I realized I hadn't put on my outdoor shoes, and was still wearing my house slippers. Well, I guess that's not so bad. At least they were plain black slippers that could pass for loafers, not bunny or kitten slippers. That could have been embarrassing.
But then I was very tired, and slept a bunch, then ate something and got tired again, then slept some more, and ended up sleeping a very long time and it was well into Tuesday morning when I got up, and I totally forgot that I hadn't posted a journal entry about my exciting day of mostly sleeping. Instead a made a breakfast of eggs (of which I now have an abundance) and hash browns and toast, with a coffee-chocolate-milk beverage containing a shot of breakfast cognac, a rare indulgence I impulsively ordered when I saw it on sale at the store (web site.) What is the world coming to when the likes of me can afford cognac? Well, I probably can't, really, and it's three times as expensive as any other alcoholic beverage I have in the house, but I figure I'll be dead soon and I can't take the money with me, so why not buy an experience I've never had before. My conclusion: It's pretty smooth, but the flavor isn't all that impressive. I could have done without it, but now that I've got it I'll make good use of it.
Today, for all practical purposes, is already pissed away, so I don't plan on doing anything except take another nap, almost immediately. I do have to fetch the wheelie bin from the street (I remembered to put it out Monday) but that can wait until after my nap, as long as I wake up before nightfall. I don't like to bring it in too late. Not only is my night blindness getting worse, but the bins make a horrible noise on the driveway and I don't want to disturb anybody.
Drinking loads of water. It's so hot out again today.
