Reset Forty-Nine, Day Ninety-Four
Aug. 26th, 2023 09:48 amFriday I got my groceries, and as usual it was utterly exhausting, even though all I did was order the stuff online and then put it away after it was brought here. I had very little sleep overnight Thursday and Friday, so after I'd ordered the groceries and showered I took to bed in hope of getting some sleep before the excitement began, but found myself too tense to sleep. Then, after much tossing and turning, I got a cramp in my left calf. This isn't rare, so I proceeded to get up to walk it off, but the cramp, if that's what it was, had other plans.
It just kept getting worse, whether I put weight on it or took it off, and I stood there several minutes, leaning on the bedside table with one hand and a huge stack of books (don't ask) with the other, unable to move without excruciating pain. There were pills in the table drawer, and I downed three, but it took several minutes before they (if it was them) took effect and I was finally able to move around a bit, and finally get out to the kitchen and sit down at the computer.
After that I got very gun shy about lying down, and it wasn't until about six hours later, after the groceries had arrived, that I finally got back onto the bed and rested a while. I never got around to fixing dinner, though I'd gotten stuff for it. I might have it for lunch today, but I think I need to catch up on a bit more sleep first. At least I got everything I'd ordered from the store except mushrooms, which my niece was able to pick up at the nearby Trader Joe's. I think they're a bit cheaper at Trader Joe's anyway, and usually better. Anyway, I'm set for a couple of weeks, if my leg doesn't decide to kill me.
Music to celebrate the full larder:
