Monday I got plenty of sleep, but at the oddest of hours, and it was close to midnight when I woke from the longest stretch. I've given up on the idea that I'll ever have anything resembling a normal schedule again. I'll just have to abandon myself to the weirdness. It wouldn't be so bad if the sleep were at least good, but I wake repeatedly with various aches and pains, and the need to pee of course.

The couple of rainy days did diminish the pollen in the air and reduce my sneezing, but balmier Monday brought it back, and today will probably further aggravate it. Those plants don't waste any time getting down and dirty. Shameless vegetation! But the puritanical rain will return Wednesday, and continue off and on through Saturday. After that it will be back to the horticultural orgy, and the sneezing.

I hear the trash truck abusing the wheelie bins right now. What a dreadful time of day to be awake! I don't know why, but refuse and its collection have always tended to provoke my anxiety and sadness. I think it's worse now than it used to be. But then most things are. My digestion, for example, which is currently rebelling at the task my post-midnight dinner set for it. I probably added further irritation with the cinnamon toast and chocolate milk I just had as a morning snack. The cup of mullein leaf tea I'm currently brewing might push it over the edge. But then as the plants in the back yard are currently plotting my imminent demise, I might as well indulge myself. Maybe I'll even put a shot of vodka in my tea. I'll probably be dead in an hour anyway.
