51/49: Can't Dance

rejectomorphAny memory of going to sleep Wednesday night has been obliterated, but I recall a couple of wakings, the last of which happened sometime after three o'clock this morning. The parts of the night when I was awake I listened carefully for sounds of rain, but heard none. Imagine my surprise when I looked out the window after dawn and saw great wet patches on the pavement and a couple of small puddles in low spots. Silent rain!
Wrote that far then sat here maundering for hours. Broken old guy brain. Kind of a pretty afternoon though, blue sky with a few clumps of fluffy white clouds. I wish I had the energy to go somewhere, but I'll probably just take a nap. Even though it's chilly outside, the furnace isn't running, so there's no draft. It probably won't rain anymore today, but it could. I might as well sleep through that too.
