Groceries got ordered and picked up this morning, and the event was only semi-catastrophic. The store substituted only two items, neither critical, but the stupid old guy who ordered (me again) forgot something which resulted in the loss of about ten bucks worth of stuff I could have had but now won't. The main culprit this time was my wretched lettering, abetted by my crappy memory, which left me unable to see or recall the crucial listed items constituting the hoop through which I was required to jump for this particular "offer". I'm just too old to jump anymore.

Anyway, there was insufficient sleep last night, and now there is utter exhaustion, greatly exaggerated by the plethora of aches and pains that constitute the psycho-physical hellscape we call old age. I just ate (unwisely, I'm sure) a hunk of delicious chocolate cake and washed it down with unsweetened (but spiked with brandy) chocolate milk. With luck, this will not prevent me from taking a desperately needed nap. I managed to put away almost all of the groceries, and had to do only a small amount of triage on the contents of the freezer. Some burritos which passed their "best by" date in the early days of the unlamented coronavirus pandemic will be equally unlamented. It appears that my muddleheaded lack of focus is not of recent origin. Damn, but dementia takes its own sweet time developing, doesn't it? I could very well die before becoming hopelessly Presidential.
